Incline at the lake
The sun shined brightly through blue skies as I ran through Mallard Lake. Gnats whizzed past my face as birds chirped and grasshoppers hopped. The weather reached the high 60’s with cool breezes. This, for me, is ideal running weather as the chilly air cooled my lungs. It felt easier to breathe as I pushed uphill and over bridges. My legs felt light on the gravel paths. I believe this was from The Bling. I felt high in increments throughout the run. Even after changing out of my gear, my mind was still calm and relaxed. I did not feel any pain or anxiety. I did feel a lot of dry mouth, but I believe that is due to the headwind. Today I ran 2 miles stopped then ran another 1.60 miles. The short distance high incline run is to train my legs for long-distance running. The Chicago half marathon is two months away and I want to be ready.
