Texas and Back
My trip to Dallas was short but sweet. I learned that the Hispanic culture is alive and vibrant, Texans love their traditions, and BBQ is king. My schedule was jam-packed with activities and finding the time to run was difficult but doable. With the temperatures in the 100s being out in the sun was unbearable and exercising outside felt impossible. So, I took my simple and quick runs indoors. I utilized gummies for these instances. The issue I have with this form of cannabis is that they are hit or miss for me. Also, it takes a long time for them to work in my system. So, the timing was vital. I ran two times while I was in Texas and on each run, I ran 2 miles. The gummies, both times, gave me a slight head high but they didn’t last very long. I felt relaxed, calm, and I didn’t feel any anxiety.
Back in Illinois, I took time to readjust from travel and ease back into my running routine. I felt it was time to change it up, so I used my new Brooks Glycierns and tried out a new strain. Today I smoked Gelato by Verano, and it felt great. This is a slight Indica-leaning hybrid that got me up and moving around. Gelato kept me focused but happy. My mind felt creative as I thought about how to improve my running and what I can do to make my environment better. I felt a slight pain in my upper right thigh but felt no anxiety or stress. Today I ran 3.26 miles on a treadmill, and it was great.
