Stop and Go
This morning the weather got to the high 60s giving us a cool and gentle breeze. Thin gray clouds blocked the sun keeping the rays off my neck and shoulders. This was an opportunity to get a long run in and practice my posture. So, I laced my Brooks, took a long hit of Runtz S1, and jumped onto the paths. Today I ran 7.88 miles and I wanted to run more. It felt good to run at the Busse Woods on a Sunday as there are fewer runners compared to Saturday. Even though I felt like I had the woods to myself, I struggled around the 7thmile. I am not sure what it was, but I randomly stopped and then started up again. I tried to push but something told me no. It wasn’t my body, and it wasn’t my mind. I’m not sure what it was.
Overall, the run was good, but I still feel like I was just taking it easy. If you have read my previous post, you will know my pace is way too slow. I know what to do but have not put those training runs in motion. On the weekend this is my opportunity to practice long runs compared to the week. Even with all those factors, I still enjoyed being outdoors in the beautiful weather.
Runts S1 sort of worked? I am not too sure. I took a few extra hits because, in my last run, I didn’t feel anything. Today felt like that. I barely felt a head high and I felt pain in my knees, back, and upper thigh. I didn’t feel dry mouth or anxiety.
I will have to adjust the temperature to see if it makes a difference.
