Late addition
The summer sun shined through scattered clouds as gusts of wind blew through Centennial Park. The forecast cast called for sun in the late afternoon with temperatures rising to the mid-80s. This didn’t seem like ideal weather, but I took a chance anyway. The goal was to increase my pace, but I got a late change in my routine. My fiancé decided to run with me as she is also preparing for a race. This was a good and challenging late addition. Running with a partner can help with pace and posture, but if the person is slower than you it could also trip you up. I was glad to run with someone, but I wasn’t prepared for the change in pace. With that being said, this was a great lesson to learn. When running in a race you will be surrounded by other runners and you will need to learn how to run with them, behind them, or alongside them. Today I ran 2.96 miles, and it was good.
Runtz S1 didn’t appear to work. It may have been because of the rush to get ready and my fiancé joining me, but I didn’t feel high. My mind was calm, relaxed, and focused but that’s all. No feeling of lightness on my feet and in my head. I did feel pain in my lower left back and in my left knee. My mouth felt dry throughout the entire session, but I did not feel any anxiety.
“Take your time and you will be successful.”
