Comfy run

Gloomy weather shuffled its way over Centennial Park as dark gray clouds blocked the sun. Temperatures got down to the mid-50s making it feel boring and depressing outside. Despite the shift in mood, this was a great opportunity to get outside and push my body. Cold weather, for some runners, can be great on the lungs and help keep you cool when going long distances. I am lucky to be one of those people who enjoy being in the cold weather…mostly.

So, I laced up my Brooks and hit the paths. Today I ran 3.1 miles, and it was comfy. I focused on trying to adjust my posture as I ran, pulling back my shoulders and picking up my feet. For the first mile, I felt light on my feet as I listened to my body and got into a rhythm. My mood was happy and focused, which I believe was from the Gelato strain. At first, I didn’t feel it kick in as I performed my stretch routine. So, I took another hit hoping it would give me the euphoric feeling. Once I got outside and started to move, the head-high kicked in. I felt pain in my upper thigh and in my right leg. This pain disappeared about a mile in making me question my stretching process. I did not feel any dry mouth or anxiety.

“Keep it up. You got this!”
