The Busse Woods was humid and wet from the previous day’s downpour. The fresh smell of dirt hit my nostrils making the forest feel alive. I took relief from the trees’ shadows as the sun shone brightly. Today I ran 3.1 miles, and it was good, not great. I am starting to feel a slight pain in my upper right thigh at the start of my runs. The pain eased about a mile in, but it is becoming consistent. I will need to adjust my stretching routine to help my muscles. I also felt pain in my right ankle at the end of the run. This may be from the Brooks Glycerins I have been using. My right shoe moved around, pushing my foot forward and then shifting back when the terrain changed.

When I was done with my workout, I noticed that the Nike Run app only captured .67 miles. So, I stopped the app, and it showed that I was still running! Come on Nike! This is not the first time the Nike app did not record my progress. It seems to be a recurrence when I go from indoors and outdoors on the app. Luckily, I turned on the Apple Fitness that captured the run.

Gelato gave me a mild head high that kicked in around the first mile. My mind was calm but focused. I thought more about my pace and the humidity than the people around me or my weight. As I mentioned earlier, I felt pain in my right ankle and upper thigh but didn’t feel any dry mouth or anxiety.
