Back to the grind
The Chicago Half Marathon was three weeks ago, and I am starting to train for another race. The Fox Valley half marathon is in September, and I have a lot of work to do. My pace, my posture, and my endurance all need improvement. I am not sure where to start but I am taking time to listen to my body. Speaking of my body, my weight has always been a factor. If you are new here, welcome, second, I am a husky guy who is learning how to run while being high on marijuana. When it comes to being heavy and learning how to run there are many things to question: weight, diet, exercise, endurance, and more. But I feel the main thing a lot of us who are heavy forget is to listen to our bodies and to make a change. The more I ran the more I listened. Today, for example, I wanted to run 5 miles, but I listened and only pushed for 4. This was great. I felt like I was doing well even though I was just running on a treadmill.
Gelato took a while to hit making it harder for me to get into rhythm. My left knee felt tight, and my right upper thigh felt sore. I was hoping weed
would help me focus on the run instead of the pain but that was not the case. I did feel high around the second mile, but I am not sure if that was a weed high or a runner’s high. I did feel happy and euphoric, and I did not feel any anxiety.
“Tomorrow will bring you happiness and joy.”
