Back Outdoors

Is it my weight or my endurance that is causing me to run so slowly? Or is it both? Those were the questions I asked myself as I ran around Centennial Park with the summer sun warming my neck and face. A heroic cloud floated swiftly through the sky blocking the rays momentarily giving me relief. Today I ran 2.8 miles, and it was frustrating. It wasn’t the fact that I didn’t run a 5k that bugged me, it was my pace. I know it takes time to build a good pace, but in my mind, it should be a lot faster. I am having a hard time pushing myself to move fast and I know why. There is interval training that I should practice but haven’t. I am so focused on running a consistent distance every other day that I don’t practice running fast for short periods of time. As this builds as well my pace. In addition, I need to increase my other exercises like lifting, yoga, and HIIT workouts. I have been lazy with them.

Runtz S1 gave me a slight head high but that’s all. I barely felt it.  My mind focused on my run as I felt pain in my upper back and knees. My legs and feet felt like bricks while I ran around the movie theater. I felt no dry mouth or anxiety.

“One run at a time.”
